Freedom vs Money 2

I was hoping for more of a response to the question from my last entry (no, it was not rhetorical). Here are my thoughts:

Personally, I don't like the idea of not being able to go where I want to, but as with most things the statement needs to be qualified. Livesinavan touched on a good point in specifying a location - there are some places that we wouldn't give up for money while there are others where we could care less. The decision is easy for someone who grew up in the Bay area to give up Idaho, but not SF.

Then again, there are certain places that only allow access to a certain group of people. Those that aren't part of that select group are denied, which isn't dissimilar from being denied from a city or state. It is simply another group restricting access to a number of individuals, which is actually quite prevalent.

All of us have goals and ambitions, and my guess is that quite a few relate to money. The discussion around Vegas and card counting made me think about what tradeoffs people are willing to sacrifice for those goals.
