There's No Place Like Home
Every time I travel, I feel as if I'm in a different world. No matter how fun the trip is, I always feel a sense of relief when the plane touches down in California. I think it's interesting how people can see themselves living in other areas, even in other countries. No matter how beautiful the place is you're essentially pulling up your roots to make the move. For somewhat nearby locations, this may not be as bad if friends or family have done the same or remain close by, but how about other countries? Friends of mine have said that they could picture themselves living in places such as Italy or Barcelona. I respect those attitudes but can't imagine starting from scratch to build a new life. Exciting, yes, but that's for traveling, not making a home.
Then again, who knows. Maybe that feeling subsides after living someplace else for a certain period of time. I just may be the one who ends up blogging from Bora Bora. I'll stay open to the idea.
