Review: You Are What You Eat: The Plan That Will Change Your Life
I borrowed this book from Annie who borrowed it from Jess. It was written by Dr. Gillian McKeith, "the world's most acclaimed nutrionist" from London. She has/had a TV show by the same name. I've never heard of the show so it didn't have the same influence as if she had been a nutritionist for say The Biggest Loser.
The book had a lot of interesting concepts such as being able to determine where someone has ailments on their body just by looking at their tongue or where on their face they have acne. The book also advises avoiding liquids with meals because it increases gas and bloating and recommends certain combinations of food types for better digestion. There is also a section on safe and healthy detoxes.
However, having never heard some of these ideas before (which sometimes seem quite a stretch), the reader either needs to trust that they're true or test them by trial and error. A lot of the recommendations also seem to be redundant. One aspect I didn't like was the constant references to other pages in the book. I'm not going to flip to multiple sections to read through one page.
Recommended: Yes - primarily for the exposure to new, potentially effective ideas and raised awarenessof diet choices

Yeah- I'm not too sure about all of the stuff she wrote about ailments. I did try her detox thing and it was hard, but I felt better afterwards. Anyways- I have this book called 100 ways to live to be 100 which I think is way better! I can't believe you read Blink in a weekend. You are a supernerd. Let's play Scrabble!
