I've never cried from reading a book. And after reading A Thousand Splendid Suns... I still haven't. A friend of mine said that he'd never cried reading a book either but that he did after this one. It's definitely a touching story and is written in a way that makes you feel like you're there. I don't want to ruin the story by revealing too much, but the suffering and pain that's described helped me appreciate how fortunate my life really is. That's always a good reminder and especially appropriate this time of year.
