iPhone Games

I'm hoping that today marks a special day - one that changes my life and gives me more time in the day. A bit of a stretch perhaps, but since I switched to the Verizon iPhone earlier this year I have spent a ridiculous amount of time playing games. Even after I came to this realization I couldn't help myself and mindlessly continued playing these games. But today, I've resolved to remove some of them.

Coin Dozer
This is the virtual version of the game we always see in arcades where dropped coins could send additional coins down the chute allowing us to multiply our tokens or quarters. But with this version, we can accumulate more coins to drop by waiting and more easily receive prizes and special coins that are worth more or allow us to earn coins more easily. I was initially proud of reaching level 135 by pushing 51,583 coins and building a coin bank of 817, but now it only serves as a sad reminder of how much time I spent tapping away at the screen.

Contract Killer
This game was one of the first I downloaded that led me into the spiral of downloading others. Fun in its own right, you act as a sniper that accepts contracts to kill gangsters and such for money. I tied this game to my game center and tried to move up the rankings, but having not played for a while I've seen my ranking drop from the 20 thousands to the 112 thousands.

Tap Zoo
I started this game with the full intention of deleting it  as it gave me some credits for Contract Killer. 21 levels later I am still playing it. I thought the zoo I was building would look much better on the iPad so I saved and loaded the game there, but for some reason the two don't synch and update. This means that I would essentially be managing 2 separate zoos on the iPhone and iPad. While I haven't quit this game cold turkey since it's on my iPad, at least now it requires much less attention to manage my zoo.

Those of you who don't play games on your phone are probably judging me. But let me say that you'd be surprised how strangely addicting some of these games are. Sometimes there is time to kill so I haven't deleted all games on my phone. I've probably kept one of the biggest time wasters - Words with Friends.
